Michael A. Lefkowitz, MD, FAANS, FACS
Michael A. Lefkowitz, M.D. is a 1990 graduate of the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Southern California. He has completed Fellowships in Interventional Neuroradiology at the UCLA Medical Center and Complex Spine Surgery at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
Dr. Lefkowitz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Section on Disorders of the Spine. He specializes in minimally invasive spinal surgery and complex spine surgery. Dr. Lefkowitz has numerous publications and presentations in the fields of Complex Spine Surgery, Interventional Neuroradiology and General Neurosurgery.
He has served on the teaching faculty for courses to teach minimally invasive spinal procedures to other physicians. He has also served as a scientific advisor to several spinal instrumentation companies for the development of new spine products.
By virtue of his partnership with Dr. Schneider and Dr. Mittler, Dr. Lefkowitz has extensive experience in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery in the pediatric population.
